Nicole Mock
Owner - Pilates Lab
I have been interested in health and fitness since my teen years. I was first introduced to Pilates in 2008 when I was looking for something to relieve lower back pain from a desk job in IT, pregnancy, and the pains and imbalances that come with new motherhood. I fell in love with the classical style of Pilates which offers a fast and fun flow of precise controlled movements to build strength, stability, and flexibility.
I have always preferred attending Classical Pilates sessions in a small studio setting and take advantage of my vacation time by trying out new studios here in the Houston area and other cities I travel to. With each small studio I visit I come home wishing we had something similar in the Sugar Land area (because driving into Houston for Pilates is not always an option in our busy schedules!) ….and so Pilates Lab was slowly born!
I am a Peak Pilates Comprehensively Certified Instructor (2021), Club Pilates Bridge Training (2022), and NASM Certified Personal Trainer (2023) with plans to continue my education in Nutrition and Corrective Exercises. I enjoy staying active with swimming, biking, running, strength training, yoga, and of course Pilates. As a family of four with 2 girls we enjoy the mountains and outdoor active vacations of all kinds.
Lisa Newding
Instructor - Pilates Lab
Lisa has lived in Sugar Land for the past 15 years. She spends her days as an elementary school teacher motivating her students to be the best they can be and not be afraid of a challenge. Lisa came across Pilates through a friend and immediately knew it was the perfect addition to her life to help build up her core strength. With a strong desire to help people become the best version of themselves, she completed her comprehensive Peak Pilates certification in 2023. When she is not teaching, she loves reading, running, Pilates, weight training, and spending time with her two awesome boys (10 & 12).
Angelica Coronel
Instructor - Pilates Lab
Hello! My name is Angelica Coronel. I began practicing pilates in my adolescence and have been an avid practitioner for well over a decade. I love not only the physical health benefits, but also the mental health benefits pilates produces. After falling in love with the movement, I took a leap of faith and became a pilates instructor and have been teaching since 2019. I am a mother of one amazing little girl and in my free time I love to cook, bake, and explore the outdoors.
Sally Jo Kolenda
Instructor - Pilates Lab
Sally Jo obtained her Pilates certification through Club Pilates in 2023 and has been an instructor since that time. A native of Sugar Land, she is delighted to be back in her hometown teaching at studios around the Houston area. Sally was initially drawn to Pilates to rehab a knee injury, but it was "love at first footwork," and she's been hopelessly devoted ever since. She was recently accepted into a Classical Pilates master’s program with Lesley Logan for 2025.
Sally is an avid foodie but a terrible competitive eater. She has couchsurfed in 30 countries and was once interviewed by Triumph the Insult Comic Dog. When she's not in the studio, Sally Jo enjoys hiking around the world, medical mission work, and Astros baseball.
Joyce Besant
